Wedding Invitation Selection

Candy and I met at Direct Buy to look for wedding invitations.  Well, Candy found one she liked...

...and I found one that I liked...

...then we found one we both liked...

Nate...SO CUTE!

Zak & Meghan were off to his Christmas office party, so Martin and I got to babysit. Nate is SO CUTE! His little personality is coming out.  Lots of "cooing" and "gooing".

PIRATES!

Logan is into theme reading. Bet you can guess the theme of the day..."Arrg me maty". Yes, pirates.

Logan must be in full regalia before reading, including: eye patch,  "banana", temporary tattoos, and treasure coins clutched in his hands.  Martin read Grandma and the Pirates at least 6 times and I read it twice.

New Years in Solon

After returning from the west coast "Christmas at Tahoe", we celebrated Christmas and New Years with Jared & DeAnn, Zak & Meghan, and the boys (Logan & Nate).  Zak and family came New Years Eve for dinner and a sleep over.  The next morning  Jared and DeAnn joined the fun for breakfast as Martin once again prepared his famous waffles with REAL Ohio maple syrup. We all had so much fun opening presents.

Some friends of ours sent me a beautiful sari and Martin a traditional dhoti to wear for the occasion.  A dhoti is 8 yards of white fabric with a gold border wrapped and pleated in the front and the back.  After several attempts, Meghan and I finally got Martin wrapped into the dhoti. DeAnn was a very good sport and dressed in one of my saris for a photo to introduce our future daughter-in-law to our Indian friends.

We concluded our day with dinner and a super fun round of charades.  It was a tie, but we will win next year, right ladies!? Here are a few photos to get you to view the rest on my web gallery titled: New Years in Solon

Christmas at Tahoe

Martin and I had a GREAT time with the Morse family for Christmas.  We were their guests at their newly rebuilt family cabin at Lake Tahoe.  It was snowing on our way up and snowed all night Christmas Eve.  The two SUVs were barely visible under the several feet of snow.  Larry rented snow shoes so off we went through the woods for a magical trek with Eric up to his waist at times leading the way. I did not bring my camera for that adventure, but enjoy the rest of the photos and short movies. Here are a few photos to tease you and the rest can be found on my web gallery. The albumn title is: Christmas 2008 Tahoe

Owen Meets Uncle Martin & Auntie Karen

Hi Owen! Such a good baby. Congrats to Ben, Michelle, Don & Georgia!

Proud grandpa. Yikes! Did I just call Don "Grandpa"!?

I pulled this book out of the "up for grabs" pile after Corky passed away.  It is Don's book from his childhood. I figured if Corky hung on to it all these years and through their move, then I would hang on to it until one of Don's children had their own child....OWEN!

If you look close, Owen has one eye slightly open as if to say, "I got my eye on you!"

Thankful for Family

Rebecca & Seth delighted us with duets. So good to hear our piano sing!

Aunt Terry getting her Nate time too.  By the end of the evening we were all happy and content.

DeAnn and Jared on Sunday after church. Congrats on your engagement.

Fun was had by all and family members missing were greatly missed indeed.  Love and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Thanksgiving Party in Solon

Lots of visiting and catching up to do.

Nic and Seth were so great at keeping Logan and Mark entertained.  Nic and Logan were playing air hockey and Logan actually scored on Nic.  You don't have to teach  boys to be competitive.
Gals chill'in.  Aunt Patrice with Nate.

Jared gets his Nate time too.
